A Wonder

Today as Elijah and I were having quiet time together, He cuddled up next to me, and said "Mommy I think it is a wonder that God put wiggly tadpoles in the water, and they lose their tails and grow hoppity legs. God is very cool mommy. My heart went pitter patter as he said that, and he made my eyes well up. I am so excited for him that he is starting to really see God's creation around him. He is such a joy to be around, and is becoming so fun to hang out with. I think that he is a wonder.

Wicked Awesome!

Thanks to my thoughtfully Romantic Hubby.... I was able to see Wicked, the Musical at the FOX. To say I loved it would be an understatement. It was so amazing! I think also what helped make this so incredible (not to be a braggart) we were almost in the front row, center. Yes, the getting out of the house, actually going on a date, and getting all dressed up is one of my favorite things that I absolutely cherish. Of course any time I am at the Fox is amazing! It is by far the BEST musical I have EVER seen. It is so funny, charming, and visually beautiful with fantastic music!

Wicked is the back-story of Glenda the good witch and the wicked witch of the west (Elphaba). The plot of the musical is, not what you would say a christian world-view. During the show you truly wonder, "What is good?" "What is evil?" "How are our choices impacted by others' interpretation of our motives?" It has a strong post-modernist view (evil being relative) , and makes you truly thank God for His unwavering, unshakable faithfulness. However, what I did like about the show was that what is "good" really is very rotten, like that of ourselves, with our sinful nature constantly coming through, and it not really always being seen for what it is. The musical is also about true friendships and love, striving that for agape love. My sister-in-law, Anne confirmed the book by Gregory MaGuire did come before the musical. With three small children, this not being a surprise, I might have read the novel, before the experience. I have heard that the novel is very crass and crude. Usually you are disappointed by the movie, or musical, I have heard that the novel is not so great, in comparison. I think that the story is indeed ingenious, and Gregory MaGuire does an amazing job of creating this fictional world.

I highly recommend seeing this if you have a chance. It has permanent theaters in London, on Broadway, and in Chicago and LA. It also is on tour each year.

82* and Loving It!!

Hello all from Northern Florida! We are having a great time in beautiful weather! We had a horrible start on my Birthday (30th). Missing our flight because our car broke down, then getting another only to be cancelled, and then being on stand-by all day. We woke up around 3:45 a.m. and did not get into Florida until 8p.m. with 3 kids in tow who didn't nap at ALL!!!!
We are now here and we are having a GREAT time!! The weather is just gorgeous, and we are in good company. We are heading off to Disney World tomorrow, and today we saw real live alligators up close in a park very cool!

Big Boy Beds for Big Boys

The boys were so excited they could barely sleep. They were excited to be in their new big boy beds from Coodie's guest room. She gave them to us when we found out we were having another boy, and we picked them up at her house after the wedding. She is moving out of her house and moving in with her new husband Ken. (Sorry King Family, they also wanted the beds) We disassembled the baby crib in this room it was sad for me at times, it was the crib (Christy's crib) that we put Elijah in when he came home from the hospital.

Respitory Distress

The goings on at the Lloyd house: Me recovering from Acute Palatine Uvulitis...yes...it is that little thing at the back of your throat. I woke up with an edema in my uvula (I know it sounds SO weird) I couldn't breathe, I kept struggling to catch a breath. I was in serious respiratory distress, my uvula was inflamed 5 times its normal size (You do not want to see a pisture of this). Since I was gagging, and couldn't breathe, Pat took me to an urgent care center...there I found that I had an infection in my body, and uvulitis!!

The diagnosis included only Popsicles and frozen drinks for the next few days to eat. MMMMM! We went to Starbucks and got the best Mocha peppermint frappucino ever!!

An Ozark Drive

On our way to Ava, in the Ozarks, as I lay softly on my down pillow, I was drifting off to sleep and as I looked out the window I was captivated with the beauty. God was peering down through the billowy clouds of the thick darkness, I was catching glimpses of his radiance.
At the same time, (Brothers and sisters) it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.

Softly and Sweetly

I love to watch these precious ones sleep. It is when I can really enjoy them, (note past blog entries) I feel so thankful to have these children. We were told that we had only a 2% chance of being able to have them. The Lord has blessed us with 4 covenant children. I am thankful.
